Our Story
30 September 2022
In Memory of Niloofar Muradi
On September 30, 2022, students gathered at the Kaaj Educational Center in Dasht-e-Barchi, Kabul. Like many young people across Afghanistan, they were preparing for the Kankor, the country’s university entrance examination and hoping to build a better future through education.
That morning, a suicide attack struck the classroom. Fifty-three people were killed and 110 others were injured. Forty-six of those who lost their lives were girls and young women who had come to study and prepare for university.
Niloofar Muradi was one of them.
